for whatever reason, I have been compelled to paint, draw, grow flowers for most of my life. Perhaps it was a slow adjustment to growing up in the tropical paradise of Miami, Florida and personally relocating to Baltimore, MD. Nevertheless, one of my favorite flowers has been the passion flower, passiflora, and I recently started an elaborate tattoo across my side from one of my paintings. It has appeared in several forms in my work and now it finds a place permanently, on my body, and I couldn't be happier. It still needs color, also shading. I love this flower. I feel like it represents part of who I am.

What's your favorite flower this week?

Call me fickle. My favorites seem to change with the weather.
Last week I was especially fond of passion flowers and lotus, this week I prefer poppies. Poppies, poppies, poppies! Or maybe sunflowers...
P.S. By the time you read this, I'll be on to another choice, since I usually prefer blues and purples.
Anyone else have a favorite of the week/day/moment?

Is an orchid which flowers in winter time. I have two of those at home. They are both white with some tiger dots...

I never dreamed of beeing succesful in growing orchids at my home. Now I keep them in my bathroom where they feel perfectly at home.

How do you multiply orchids? I have a plant which made some kind of two new offsprings up in the air wih their own roots - when am I alowed to cut them off and give them their proper place?

The Amaryllis is named after a shepardess referred to in Virgil and the name comes from the greek word meaning dazzling. The species is called Belladonna, the Italian word meaning beautiful lady. The flowers general meaning is Pride, because the flower is difficult to grow, but once in bloom outshines all those around it.
